SANDY HOPPER

Statement

For over 25 years, I have been creating fine works of art. I originally started working with oils, but allergies to traditional oils precipitated the transition to working with silk in 2000. Although my work is predominately with silk, I still continue to work in oils on a limited basis and have a dedicated gallery page just for my oil paintings.

Using dyes I create hand painted designs on designer wears including Ruanas, kimonos, scarves and more in every length and style. My specialty includes lovely silk shawls with whispery soft fringe that create the perfect accessory for any outfit.  I love creating special occasion and wedding attire, such as cocoon and butterfly jackets, kimonos, and sarongs. My silk art for display is another specialty of mine and I enjoy creating unique silk panels for shoji screens and framed silk.
